Oscar Quiroz brings the garland back home

Several talented Belizeans made headlines both locally and internationally this past weekend as Oscar Quiroz brought home the cross-country garland; Demetri Myers captured two gold medals in track and field and the Belize High School Robotics Team made it to the finals in Texas, USA. The waves of good news began on Saturday when Oscar Quiroz did a solo at the finishing line at BTL Park in Belize City for the 93rd annual Holy Saturday Cross Country Cycling Classic. It was the first time in five years a Belizean has won the event, which is the biggest race for cyclists in the country. Reporter Vejea Alvarez has the story.
