It was only last year that a similar incident transpired inside the Belize Civic Centre.  That incident resulted in two persons dead and six injured.  It brought about a discussion on the Occupational Safety and Health Bill (OSH Bill) which was one of several demands made by the BNTU back in September 2016.  Love News spoke with NTUCB’s President, Marvin Mora on the delay of the OSH Bill.

The OSH Bill seeks to secure the safety, health, and welfare of workers at work; protect persons other than workers against risks; promote a safe and healthy occupational environment for workers that protects them from injury and occupational disease.
