In May of last year, 20-year-old Oswald Arnold went missing after going on a fishing trip with friends. In November, human skeletal remains were found in the Belize River, near Teakettle Village, Cayo District and were suspected to be that of Arnold. Rosita Orellana, who is Arnold’s mother, told our Cayo Correspondent, Fem Cruz, that she is just waiting on the DNA results for confirmation of her worst fears.
Rosita Orellana, Mother of Deceased: “Well so far they have the remains from Oswald but all what we are waiting for is DNA to come in for sure that that is his remains that they have and they found him in the same clothes that he had gone missing in and everything so we know that it is him. The only thing I want is just to bury him and make us have an ease with him, that is all we are begging for. We are only waiting for the DNA to come back and the only thing that I want is just to bury him and have an ease of it. He went the 17th of May 2018 and that was the last time I saw him.”
Fem Cruz, Cayo Correspondent: With some friends.
Rosita Orellana, Mother of Deceased: “With some friends that was the last time. Six months after that they found some remains.”
