Today the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports held this year’s primary school examination Award Ceremony at the Bliss Center for Performing Art. This year’s top PSE performers and schools were recognized. Minster of Education Patrick Faber told Love News that while he congratulates the top performers, the ministry is not fully satisfied with the overall performance.
Patrick Faber, Minister of Education
“We saw them crediting their success to a lot of things and not only those evening classes. They credited their success to strong parents who were behind them, support of the teachers who encouraged and helped them, they credited their success to their classmates who encouraged them and pushed them to go further and of course they credited much to God and their spirituality and so these are all areas and as we have always said it is everybody’s business to move education forward. We can sit and play the blame game or we can all put our shoulders to the wheel so there are many area that we are working on at the same time it’s a tough juggle sometimes but I’m not disheartened at all for those who are critical of our Ministry and of the education system I urge them to rather than be criticizing from the outside to do their part in making sure that we are moving education in the right direction.”
Gabriel Hope of Bernice Yorke Institute of Learning was this year’s Top PSE Performer. It was announced today that the top 28 performers would receive a four year scholarship to the high school of their choice and a book grant.
