Over 600 families assisted by the Belize Red Cross

Over six hundred families affected by Hurricane Lisa have received assistance from the Belize Red Cross. The nonprofit NGO launched its disaster relief operation last week in the Belize District and continues assessing and assisting affected residents. The organization and its trained disaster management volunteers have been distributing tarps, groceries, mattresses, and medical supplies across the district. According to Lily Bowman, the Director General of the Belize Red Cross, the NGO began preparations before the storm’s arrival. Earlier today, Bowman explained how the Red Cross is working to assist those in need.
