Over one hundred persons charged for breaking State of Emergency regulations

One hundred and forty seven persons were arrested and charged over the weekend after acting incontravention of the regulations under the current State of Emergency.  According to the Police Commissioner Chester Williams, one hundred and twenty four were charged for failing to wear a cloth mask or face covering in public;

One hundred and forty seven persons were arrested and charged over the weekend after acting incontravention of the regulations under the current State of Emergency.  According to the Police Commissioner Chester Williams, one hundred and twenty four were charged for failing to wear a cloth mask or face covering in public; eighteen were charged for breaching curfew; two were charged for failing to practice social distancing and one for not having a reasonable cause for moving outside the curfew hours; another was charged for failing to wear a mask on public transport and antoher for keeping his business open outside the prescribed hours.  While the Police Commissioner did not give a breakdown per district, the Commanding Officer for San Pedro Town explained that the island he commands is not part of the statistics.

Residents outside the areas under lockdown are reminded that tonight’s curfew starts at ten o’clock and expires at five o’clock tomorrow morning.
