Over Two Hundred Starter Homes To be Completed by End of Fiscal Year

Part of the Briceño Administration’s Plan Belize manifesto is to deliver ten thousand homes to Belizeans from low-income backgrounds to empower the community. However, as this fiscal year comes to an end, the Ministry of Infrastructure Development and Housing (MIDH) is still nowhere near hitting that mark having only completed about two hundred of those houses. Minister Julius Espat says that his team is focusing on delivering quality long-lasting homes. He also adds that there are financial constraints that contribute to the lag, but GOB is looking to accept help from international institutions to be able to do more this coming fiscal year.
