PACT and APAMO Announce New Funding Partnership to Enhance Protected Areas Management

The Protected Areas Conservation Trust (PACT) and the Association of Protected Areas Management Organizations (APAMO) formalized a strategic partnership agreement earlier today. Under the agreement, PACT will provide BZ$319,000 in funding to support APAMO in implementing initiatives across four key areas such as Financial Management Support, Training and Capacity Building, Communication and Public Awareness, General Administrative and Technical Support. Love News spoke with Executive Director of APAMO, Jose Perez on what this partnership means for both organizations.
The partnership aims to optimize the effectiveness of CBOs in managing Belize’s critical ecosystems, ensuring the sustainable use and protection of the country’s rich biodiversity. In today’s Interview the Executive Director of PACT, Abil Castenada, explained that this is a project that has been in the pipeline for some time now.
Dr. Kenrick Williams, Chairman of PACT’s Board of Directors, and Eli Miller, APAMO’s Vice Chairman, signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations.
