Panton Welcomes Peyrefitte’s Return as UDP Chairman

In related news, Tracy Panton has welcomed the reinstatement of Michael Peyrefitte as the UDP Chairman.  Earlier this week, we reported that Peyrefitte had rescinded his application, and which was accepted by the powers that be in the party.  When asked about his reappearance, Panton says she embraces anything that would bring unity.

Tracy Panton, Leader of the Opposition: “I support a genuine attempt to bring all relevant parties to the table so we can discuss and come up with a consensus position on a way forward for the United Democratic Party. We’re not fighting for ourselves, we’re fighting for the democracy of this country and we’re fighting for those people who continue to support us even in the worst of times because they look to us as a voice of hope, a voice of reason, a voice for the voiceless. And so whatever that configuration is to help us to move past the impasse I support.”

Peyrefitte had resigned on March 18 shortly after the general elections.
