Patient 7 who is the last to be confirmed to date, is 28-year-old media personnel of San Ignacio Town, Cayo District.  Reports reaching our news centre are that Patient Seven may have gotten infected at the Western Regional Hospital.  He spoke with us this afternoon on the origin of the infection and his current symptoms.

Patient 7: “I went to the hospital in San Ignacio Thursday and Friday and then Saturday they brought me to Belmopan because they suspected that I may have the coronavirus. That’s when Saturday I was tested again. Well I had a flu like two weeks ago, just a regular flu and then I drank some pills and it seemed to have come off but like Wednesday of last week then I started with a cough and I realized that every time I coughed I was having difficulty breathing so that’s when I went Thursday to the hospital.”

Reporter: Where do you think that you contracted the virus from ?

Patient 7:  “That’s a good question I have no idea, I haven’t been travelling or anything so I’m not sure how I got the virus.”

Reporter: One of the nurses I believe it was the Western Regional said that you guys think that maybe you caught it while you were at the Western Regional at the same time with patient number four ?

Patient 7:  “I’m not sure if patient number four was at the same location with me because what happened is they swabbed me on Thursday when I went to San Ignacio hospital. I’m not sure how long it takes to get the results. I believe it was on Saturday I was swabbed again at the Belmopan hospital so I’m not sure which of the two of them was the one that tested positive. Well I was surprised, I felt that I had maybe a pneumonia or some kind of other infection due to regular flu. My wife was tested, I’m not sure if she already got back her results. I’m currently at the KHMH and I’m not really having any other symptoms other than when I cough I have difficulty breathing that’s the one thing. The testing process that’s why I wanted some questions because I’m not sure which test actually tested positive if it’s the one from San Ignacio or the one from that was done at the Belmopan hospital.”

As was noted, Patient Seven is currently at the KHMH.
