While the meeting created a rift within the party, Patrick Faber says he’s forgiven Mayor Earl Trapp for attempting to have him expelled. Last week, Trapp wrote to the UDP’s chairman about wanting Faber removed over a post on Facebook calling for Shyne Barrow’s removal. However, Trapp rescinded his letter and told Love News that the move was geared at bringing unity. On Saturday, we asked Faber about the attempt and whether he felt the post could spell trouble for him in the future.

Patrick Faber, Area Representative, Collect Division: “A lot of things have happened to me over the course of my many years in politics. So Earl Trapp is my friend. I understand sometimes circumstances pushes people in the wrong direction. He has rescinded his letter and Earl Trapp and I are fine. So let’s not lose any sleep over that. Well, I really don’t know, but we were prepared to deal with that today. The people of the National Party Council, majority of the people, which we are in regular contact with every day on our chat, well until they kicked me out a few days ago. No, and I started receiving support immediately. In fact, the majority of the members of the NPC gave me that assurance as early as a few days afterwards, that listen Faber you’re not going to go anywhere by our hand. You know, so that was not a concern for me at all today.”
Faber noted that he expects backlash for publicly supporting Panton.
