Minister of Education and Culture Patrick Faber has joined the ranks of over 140 ministers and high representatives in Paris, France. During the 40th session of the General Conference, Faber presented a National Statement to 120 ministers of education on the general policy debate. Yesterday, he participated in the UNESCO Forum of Ministers of Culture. This was under the theme “Culture and Public Policy for Sustainable Development” and the panel discussion focused on “Culture in the Public Space, an Engine for Social and Urban Transformation.” This ministerial meeting provides an opportunity to make decisive progress on the role of culture in development and continues to extend the concept of culture to include intangible heritage and diversity.
