People’s Constitution Commission Aims to Engage Belizeans through Multiple Channels
While the topic of constitutional reform is making its rounds throughout the country right now, it is not a new discussion. People’s Constitution Commission Chairman Anthony Chanona explained today that there a previous commission that set out to sensitize Belizeans on the content of the constitution between nineteen ninety-nine and two thousand. Chanona said that the PCC realized that access to the information and appropriate delivery of the information were two important aspects that the PCC had to look at to ensure that Belizeans are fully engaged. He noted that this commission will be disseminating booklets and pamphlets, but also using technology to spread the word.
The PCC is comprised of 23 organizations including political parties, NGO’s, environmental and cultural groups among others, that will all be reaching out to their respective demographics during the education campaign.
