Philip “Fawda” Henry has officially left the People’s Democratic Movement (PDM). PDM is a newly formed group of 11 members who are aspiring to be the country’s next City Council. Henry spoke to Love News about his decision to leave the movement due to lack of trust in the Mayoral Candidate, Estevan Perera Sr.
Philip “Fawda” Henry, Former PDM Council Candidate: “What happened is I am here today for the fact that I am resigning. I am resigning from the PDM. Why I am resigning for the fact that I am a trustworthy person and when I come to you and I ask about what is going on about our fundraising and you cannot tell me what is going on about our fundraising and we are having meetings and after meetings and you cannot direct to the entier panel what is going on with our fundraising and then you are lying to us meaning the secretary, the treasurer, and the president don’t know who are the people supposed to sign to get money if he is getting money but he mentioned he only received $1000 and when he said he only got $1000 that’s what pushed me back because other people were saying that they were donating to our municipal body. So Mr.Perrera chose to call me and stated that you know what we’re tired of you, we don’t want you around and I stated to him that you cannot make a decision on your own it’s an entier eleven persons who can make a decision to say if I could be here or not but he continued to make decisions by himself. And continued to go around and beg for money on this own. So we are lost, we don’t know. So why should I be with a team when you have a mayoral candidate who you can’t trust ? That’s the reason I’m here. I had to make the entire nation know that Philip “Fawda” Henry is not going to represent the People’s DEmocratic Movement anymore. So for all those who are out there who were about to go and vote me on March 6 it is up to you if you want to vote the PDM because I am out because of trust. I believe in trust and I don’t see it in our leader.”
Interestingly, Henry had withdrawn support for the PUP before joining the PDM. Love News reached out to Perera to respond to the allegations but he decided not to comment.
