Placencia Man Charged With Burglary After Allegedly Breaking Into Apartment

In Placencia, thirty-four-year-old Mychal Fairweather has been charged with burglary following an incident at an apartment behind Tides Restaurant. Police responded to the location on Wednesday morning after receiving a 911 report of a man attempting to enter the building.  The apartment’s occupant, thirty-eight-year-old Felipe Magana, told police that he was inside his vehicle when an unknown man approached him and demanded the keys to his apartment. Magana reportedly went inside, secured the door and called the police after hearing loud banging.  Investigators say the intruder allegedly damaged the deadbolt and doorknob to gain entry. When officers arrived, they reportedly found Fairweather inside the apartment and detained him. He was formally arrested and charged with burglary yesterday.
