PM Briceno Accuses Opposition Leader Barrow of Mocking the Courts

Prime Minister John Briceno believes the Leader of the Opposition, Moses “Shyne” Barrow, is making a mockery of the courts. Today, Briceno weighed in on the efforts to challenge Barrow’s voter registration in the Mesopotamia division. The People United Party launched the challenge months ago because Barrow registered his residence at number 80 King Street but does not live there. Briceno says that despite Barrow’s claims, he knows that the LOO does not reside in his constituency.

Hon. John Briceño, Prime Minister of Belize: “Everybody knows where he lives. Everybody knows he lives by the the Perdomos. You see him most days at midday he for some reason he has some I don’t know ritual or habit that he goes with a short pants, a towel around his back and plunges into the sea just sits down there for a minute and then walks out and he goes back. Everybody knows where he lives so I think it is the right for the people of Mesopotamia to object for him to it seems to be falsy give wrong information about where he is -“

Reporter: Do you think he’s making a mockery of the court ?

Hon. John Briceño, Prime Minister of Belize: “But of course. He does that all the time.”

PM Briceno noted that while there may be other politicians who do not reside where they are registered, the challenge was brought against Barrow.
