PM Briceno Engages in High-Level Talks in Washington, DC

Prime Minister John Briceno is expected home later this week after attending numerous meetings in the United States.  This week he is in Washington DC meeting with all levels of the US Government, including Homeland Security.  His most recent meetings were with US Senator, Tim Kaine; Congresswoman Sydney Kamlager-Dove as well as Steven Horsford, Chairman of the Congressional Black Caucus.  These meetings included discussions on migration, advocacy of justice for families, along with other regional priority areas of concern.  In his meeting with US Homeland Security, the Prime Minister met with the Security Secretary, Alejandro Mayorkas, and was joined by Belize’s Foreign Minister, Eamon Courtenay and the Minister of Defence, Florencio Marin Jr.  Earlier today it was announced that the US Ambassador to Belize, Michelle Kwan, had traveled to Washington, DC, and joined Prime Minister Briceño and the Belize delegation for the series of high-level meetings.
