PM Briceno says GOB is Exploring a Time Limit on the Sale of Liquor

With curfew measures and other Covid-19 regulations extended to August 31, the government is looking at additional steps to curb the rise in cases. Prime Minister Briceno indicated that one of those measures is the limitation on the sale of liquor.

John Briceno, Prime Minister of Belize: “We’re going to ban the sale of liquor in stores after six o’clock. You can go to a restaurant to go and eat and you can buy a beer and get a drink but you will not be able to go to the store and buy because you go to those big stores around Belize and the country and you see people hanging out there in the back of their pickup trucks drinking and that is what is creating part of the spread.”
