PM Briceno Speaks on Low Vaccinations Numbers in the National Assembly

As the Government works at getting the infection rates lowered the data coming out of the Ministry of Health indicates that only eighty four percent of the members of the National Assembly are vaccinated. It is a concern expressed by the Prime Minister as he strongly advised the members to take the jab.

John Briceno, Prime Minister of Belize: “Well I think they should get vaccinated and if eventually if we see all front line workers get vaccinated and if not you can’t go in those that are not vaccinated maybe will not be able to go into the National Assembly.  Simple.”

Reporter:  I know you have one Cabinet minister or one area rep that’s not vaccinated correct ?

John Briceno, Prime Minister of Belize: “Well he got sick so he can’t get vaccinated as yet so he has to wait I think either three months or six months to be able to get. I know when I got COVID I had to wait six months before I can get vaccinated that’s why I did not get vaccinated until May not because I did not want to get vaccinated but simply because I had to wait.”
