PM Briceño to present budget in March

Prime Minister John Briceño, who is also the Minister of Finance, Economic Development, and Investment, will be presenting his new budget shortly. According to a Cabinet brief, the finance minister will be delivering that presentation on Friday, March 10. In addition to the announcement for the General Revenue and Appropriations Bill for the upcoming fiscal year, Cabinet also announced that it met with the executive board of directors of the World Bank. That team is in the country on what has been described as a “fact-finding mission” and a chance to see first-hand the strengths possessed and challenges faced by the country in its national development. The International Finance Corporation, which is the private sector arm of the World Bank, was also in that meeting with Cabinet. We hope to speak to the PM soon for a rundown of what specifics came from that discourse.
