PM John Briceno Comments on LOO’s Issue concerning JCTHC

Today, the Prime Minister, John Briceno, told the media that he does not care if the Leader of the Opposition was not invited to be the speaker for Julian Cho Technical High School’s graduation ceremony. It is reported that the majority of the graduating classes voted for Barrow to be the guest speaker at their graduation ceremony. However, that decision was overturned by the school’s board. Here are Briceno’s comments:

Hon. John Briceno, Prime Minister of Belize: Lost opportunity in what ? I don’t think there’s much the Leader of Opposition can tell anyone but at the end of the day it is a decision for the board of directors. I think from what I understand and I have not gotten a report and it really does not interest me. From what I understand many schools you would ask students to give names for the board to consider it’s not the students that decides who is going to speak and I guess the board after looking at the different names I guess they decided to invite someone else. I really don’t know the details and it really doesn’t matter, it’s not important me.”
