PM Rejects Claims US Meeting Triggered Mai’s Exit

Earlier in our newscast, we told you of the meeting that the Prime Minister had with the US Embassy’s Charge d’Affaires on Friday.  It is in that meeting that concerns were reportedly tabled over Abelardo Mai’s activities in the north.  Many are of the opinion that this meeting triggered PM to demand Mai’s resignation.  Prime Minister John Briceno, has, however, denied asking Mai for his resignation, and explained that Mai’s name never came up in Friday’s meeting.

We will have more from today’s interview with the Prime Minister in subsequent news reports.
