Police Are Still Trying to Connect an Identity to Skeletal Remains

Police have yet to determine the identity of the skeletal remains that were found out west. Sometime around five o’clock on Wednesday, November 17, a human skeleton was discovered under a coconut tree in Camalote Village, Cayo. Police were alerted of the discovery by persons looking for coconuts in an area about two and a half miles off the George Price Highway. Police canvassed the area and found pieces of clothes and a single shoe a few feet from where the remains were discovered. The Commissioner of Police, Chester Williams, says they are still investigating to ascertain the person’s identity.

Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police: “In terms of the skeletal remains while we may have an idea who the remains belong to we cannot at this time ascertain that is going to require further work to be done. And in terms of the person I am not sure if that person has been apprehended at this time.”
