    Three Guatemalan men were arrested and charged after they were engaged in public drinking as well as not respecting social distancing measures enforced by the police. Assistant Commissioner of Police, Joseph Myvett, stated that this incident occurred around 8pm Saturday in Red Bank Village, Stann Creek District.

Police charged two men with attempted robbery

On Monday morning two men attempted to rob CP Gas Station at the entrance of the Philip Goldson Highway with Belize City.   Inspector Wilfredo Ferrufino said two men have been charged in relation to that incident.

Inspector Wilfredo Ferrufino, CIB, Belize City: “There they spoke to the manager of the gas station Mr.Nelson Ranchoran a 40 year old resident of Belize City. He reported that whilst entering the service station he was accosted by two male persons, one of whom was armed with a firearm. Whilst inside the building a struggle ensued between him and both persons and both culprits made their escape through the front door damaging the glass door of the gas station upon leaving the building. Mr. Ranchoran received injuries to his forehead and nothing was stolen. Two persons were detained, one Tyrique Perez a nineteen year old of 2859 Curacao Street and Tyrique Swazo a 20 year old of a #5 Iguana Street address. They were both charged on Wednesday for attempted robbery, wounding and Mr.Swazo was additionally charged for damage to property.”
