Police Commissioner Chester Williams Resolute in Staying Put

With those votes of confidence issued for the Police Commissioner, they may have just reinforced his convictions to hang on and get the job done.  In a recent interviews, Williams told the media that he isn’t going anywhere soon.

Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police: “I certainly can’t go on preretirement leave in December. I’m extremely far from the age of retirement and I can confirm to the media that I’m not going nowhere in December. I will continue my tenure as Commissioner of Police until the time comes that I decide to leave or if the government decides to do otherwise.”

Commissioner Williams was sworn in, in January 2019.
