Police Commissioner offers update on drug plane investigation

Tonight, police officers continue to search for a suspected drug plane that is believed to have landed in the south of the country. On Monday night, officers were informed of a suspected narco jet headed for Belize’s airspace. The aircraft was believed to have landed in the Toledo District; however, it remains to be found. Commissioner of Police, Chester Williams, explained that the department needed to launch a search for the plane.

Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police: “We did a fly over yesterday and it yielded no success but we still have officers in the area on foot trying to comb as much as they can to see if we are going to come up with anything. And again it goes to show that we are not in the habit of covering nothing. We could have simply given up and said that the plane did not land but we want to be sure as to whether or not it landed in Belize so that we can give the nation an accurate briefing.”
