Police Conduct Community Meet and Greet in Sandhill Village

The Belize Police Department continues searching for answers surrounding the brutal murder of three men in Sandhill Village, Belize District. Today, the Community Policing Unit conducted a meet and greet in the village to hear the concerns of the residents, who were left shaken after this incident took place. Commander of the National Community Policing Unit, Howell Gillett, explains that they are hoping to gain the community’s trust so that persons with information that could help bring closure to this case will be willing to come forward.

Sandhill resident, Edwardo Gongora, says that he supports the police’s efforts to restore the community’s peace of mind. However, he hopes that they follow through with their plan and that more frequent police patrols are implemented, especially during the night.
