While Assistant Superintendent Fernando Neal’s demise leaves a gaping hole, his friend and colleague twenty-two-year-old Constable Didier Wilson Clavel is in the hospital recovering. Clavel was the driver of the silver Toyota Corolla car that the pair were traveling in when they collided with a white Ford Ranger pick-up truck. According to police, the driver of the pick-up failed to keep on its right and invaded Clavel’s lane. As a result, the police constable swerved to avoid a collision but was unsuccessful, and the right front side of his car collided with the right side of the pick-up. Today, Clavel’s father spoke about his condition.
Clavel was in the graduating class of squad ninety-four that completed training last year.
