A shootout between feuding factions in Belize City over the weekend has led to the detention of one man. On Saturday night, police were called to reports a shooting on T- Street. Upon arrival at the scene, police met a resident from the area with an illegal firearm. According to Assistant Superintendent of Police Fitzroy Yearwood, the assailant was returning fire after a rival gang member fired several shots at a resident on T- Street.
At this morning’s press briefing Yearwood informed the media that his office would have been providing more details on the incident but up to news time tonight that has yet to materialize.
