Police Investigate Murder of Elderly Man in Roaring Creek

Police are investigating the murder of an elderly man in western Belize. Around six-thirty this morning, the body of 67-year-old Benito Cal was found in the Roaring Creek Cemetery. Reports are that Cal had injuries to the face which suggests that he was bludgeoned. Love News understands there was a cement block found in the vicinity which is believed to be what was used to harm Cal. Police say that Cal was last seen around three o’clock yesterday evening. One of Cal’s granddaughters, who wished to speak off camera says that her family is devastated by the news and she can’t fathom why anyone would want to hurt him.

She also said that she did not know why Cal was traveling through the cemetery, as he usually takes a different route.
