Police are investigating two separate incidents involving reported gunfire in Bermudian Landing and a suspected vehicle arson in Belize City.  In the first incident, police received a report of gunshots shortly after ten-thirty on Monday night. Nicole Humble reported that she was driving from Lemonal toward Bermudian Landing when she saw a man she knew standing near the road at the Bermudian Landing intersection.  Shortly after passing him, Humble reportedly heard five loud bangs that she believed were gunshots. No one was injured, and her vehicle was not damaged. Police say a formal complaint has not yet been filed. Meanwhile, police are investigating a suspected arson on Rasta Street in Belize City. At around five o’clock on Monday morning, officers found a black Nissan Rogue with fire damage to its rear passenger area. Firefighters had already extinguished the blaze.  The vehicle’s owner, 26-year-old security officer Elhart Percival, told police he had parked it outside his yard at around nine o’clock the previous night. Initial investigations indicate that an unlicensed grey Caravan arrived in the area at approximately four-fifteen that morning. Shortly afterwards, the Nissan was seen engulfed in flames, and the van reportedly fled towards Central American Boulevard.  The value of the damage has not yet been determined. Police continue to investigate both incidents.
