Police launch manhunt for Christon Rocha

38-year-old Vannesa Reyes continues to live in fear. That’s because her ex-common-law husband Christon Rocha, who attacked her on Easter Sunday, remains at large. The Honduran national was caught on camera stabbing Reyes in the face near a resort in Placencia. Reyes has since been relocated to safe house, away from her children, until Rocha is found. Police Press Officer, ASP Fitzroy Yearwood, says the department launched a manhunt to locate Rocha and bring him to justice.

ASP. Fitzroy Yearwood, Public Relations, Belize Police Department: “To be very honest, we have a countrywide hunt for him. We keep sending the posters to our counterparts at the borderline of this country. We have conducted several searches based on tips that he was believed to be on a certain island and I’m telling you that the search continues for him because this is not a case that we can take lightly. If those persons on that morning didn’t intervene and stop him from carrying out what I fear would have been a fatal incident then we would have been investigating a murder at this time. We continue to appeal to the general public to assist us in locating this person. I know that we have circulated his photos in every means that we can and we will do it again today and I will continue to do it on an almost daily basis until we locate this man and bring him to justice. No?”
