Police say that after an intense investigation, they were able to nab three men responsible for an aggravated burglary in March that traumatized an American family. On Friday, Police arrested and jointly charged 23-year-old, Jermaine Bernardez, 41-year-old Jermaine Garnett, and 23-year-old Tyrique Garnett with the crimes of aggravated burglary and 2 counts of aggravated assault. In March, the men allegedly barged into a beach house at the Sirenian Bay Resort and held up the occupants. The armed bandits were demanding money but their plans were foiled by police. A shootout ensued, leading to the crooks fleeing the scene with only a cell phone. Police Commissioner Chester Williams commended the police on the good work and shared how the criminals were brought to justice.
Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police: “Good work on the part of the police in conducting that investigation. We know that it was not an easy one as the incident occurred during the dark of night and police were not able to identify the suspects. But again through good police investigation we were able to identify who the suspects are and gathered the evidence needed to have been able to arrest and charge those persons with aggravated burglary and attempted murder for shooting at the police when the police responded.”
The incident occurred on March 10 just before one o’clock in the morning when eight guests at the Serinian Bay Resort in Placencia were awaken and tied up by four masked men, reportedly looking for the resort owner.
