Police say that they’ve made a breakthrough in the investigations into the murders of fifty-four-year-old Gonzalo Rosado and forty-nine-year-old Wayne Cadle. On Saturday, police charged a seventeen-year-old girl with conspiracy to commit murder and abetment to commit murder following the incident involving Rosado on March one and the murder of Wayne Cadle on May twenty-eight. Similarly, police also charged Sergio “Che” Pineda in connection with the same crimes. ASP Yearwood today explained the department is now trying to find their main suspect.
ACP Fitzroy Yearwood, Director of Communications: “Well we know that investigators have reached a juncture and after consultation with the DPP’s office they believe that they have enough evidence to charge both these persons in connection with both these murders. So now it’s only a waiting game for us to know who the main suspect is and hopefully it will not be too far from now.”
Reporter: Sir can you explain to us the effort that it took for the police to get custody of the suspect who was acros in Guatemala ?
ACP Fitzroy Yearwood, Director of Communications: “Well as you know in our border towns most of our foreign counterparts work closely with our local police and as soon as he was picked up in Guatemala they made the necessary contacts with Belize Police Department and he was handed over sometime over the weekend and he was charged for these two conspiracy to commit murder. But like I said I wouldn’t want to go into detail as to how all these happened but we are very grateful that we have a wonderful working relationship with Guatemala police and our neighboring police in Mexico. So we try our best to reach out to them if we receive information that suspect or suspects may have fled Belize and entered their country and they would do the same when they have the same problems involving their own natives that they believe have committed a crime in their country.”
The white 2020 Foton that was stolen from Cadle after his murder has not yet been found.
