Police have no motive in Belmopan double murder

Like every other homicide, investigators are probing.  Today, the police shared their preliminary findings.  According to ACP Myvett, while they know who their suspects are, they have yet to discern a clear motive.

ACP Joseph Myvette, Head of National Crimes Investigation Branch: “Sometime around 9:30am Belmopan police were called to an area in San Martin Belmopan where upon arrival they observed the body of a Hispanic male lying in a creek which did not have water at the time- he was later identified as Gruver Delgado. As a result he was removed from there and taken to the Western Regional for treatment where he succumbed to his injuries whilst undergoing those treatments. What the police know so far is that Delgado along with Herman Valladarez were hanging out in that area when they were approached by two persons where an argument ensued and as a result one of those persons pulled out a firearm and fired at Delgado. As a result Valladarez was also fired upon and he too in an attempt to escape from the area after he was fired upon was caught up by those two persons and he too was shot. He too was transported to the Western Regional Hospital and later to the Karl Heusner Memorial hospital where sometime after 4am yesterday morning he succumbed to those injuries. In relation to this police are seeing two suspects one of whom I believe is 18 and at the time of the incident he was accompanied by a 13 year old minor who we are also seeking.”

Reports are that the suspects are originally from El Savador.
