Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police: “I know that yesterday in the evening there was an accident on the Hummingbird Highway near Dangriga involving Corporal Elton Elijio, he was driving a vehicle and he may have knocked down two persons who were on a motorcycle. One of the persons on the cycle received serious injuries and was rushed to the hospital but on the way to the hospital he died. Mr.Elijio is currently in police custody and I believe that he should be charged by the end of the day today where that accident is concerned.”

Reporter: Reports are that he was intoxicated.
