Police Officer Charged for Unlawful Sexual Intercourse

A police officer has been charged with five counts of unlawful sexual intercourse.  The charges follow a complaint made by a 14-year-old child in the presence of her mother.   26-year-old, Dexter Diego was formally arrested and charged yesterday.  According to the complainant, the officer engaged in unlawful sexual intercourse with the child on five separate occasions between February and March of this year.  Diego appeared in unrepresented in court today, but was not allowed to make a plea since the matter will be handled on indictment at the High Court.  He is expected back in court on October 12.
