Fem Cruz, Cayo Correspondent: 36-year-old Salomi Brown, police constable attached to the Roaring Creek Police subformation is hospitalized at home after being knocked down by a motorcycle while on duty on the Franks Eddy Road. Love News understands that the incident happened sometime around seven o’clock last night. The driver of the motorcycle was identified as Jose Cho, a resident of St.Matthew’s Village Cayo District. Ernie Nutry, the brother of Cho shed some light on the unfortunate incident.
Me and my brother were socializing and he ended up coming ahead of us to come meet a friend.
Fem Cruz, Cayo Correspondent: From where to where ?
“Well he was going to come to Belmopan, we were in Franks Eddy after Tiki Tavern there is another spot near the Chiney and he said “bro I’m going ahead.” and I told him go ahead just take you time which we always do. Like five minutes later he called me that he got in an accident with the police. I said how will you get into an accident with the police ? He said yeah the police parked on the wrong side of the road I told him “Right now I’m coming bro.”
Fem Cruz, Cayo Correspondent: Now explain to me after when you arrived at the scene why you think the police parked wrong ?
“Because the police was on the right hand side coming then I started to question the other person that my brother ran into the bike, the said they were parked on the other side of the road. Normally, maybe I’m wrong but normally if you as a police is stopping somebody why will you stop on the other side of the road and go on the other side of the road where the vehicle is and get papers ? If you stop somebody you should be behind them because yes they had their lights on so me if I was driving I would have done the same thing; I see them on the road I would have taken a little left to divert them and continue not knowing they’re on the same side I’m going because they didn’t have their you know they should have been right behind the vehicle or right behind the vehicle so if we do to overtake we wouldn’t get into any accident but they didn’t do that.”
Fem Cruz, Cayo Correspondent: Tell us the injuries your brother received and the person that was on the motorcycle.
“Well he has little abrasions on his knuckles and so and then his right knee is burst open so that is getting stitched right now inside. Then the other one on the vehicle is a female with a male she just got bruised up, she’s still hurt I’m not saying that what she got is less than what my brother got but she is inside right now getting checked up too.”
Fem Cruz, Cayo Correspondent: So that was the person on the motorcycle ?
“Yeah it was two. It was a male and a female.”
