Police Officers Involved in Road Traffic Incident in Belize District

Two woman police officers were recently involved in a road traffic incident in the Belize District.  The Police Press Office is yet to issue an official report on the incident, but our newsroom gathered that the incident occurred between miles 16 and 17 on the Philip Goldson Highway, within Sandhill Village.  When Police responded to the scene of the incident, they found a blue Ford Escape SUV overturned and Police Constable Kimberly Dawson on the roadside, with severe pain in her neck and back.  The driver of the vehicle, Corporal Camisha Itza, also attached to Precinct Two sustained minor injuries.  The two officers have been given medico-legal forms.  PC Dawson has confirmed, in a comment posted on social media, that they were using seatbelts at the time of the incident.
