April 5, 2020. 8:15 a.m. – Ministry of Health confirms Fifth case of COVID-19 in Belize. The patient arrived in Belize on Friday, April 3rd, and is in self-isolation at a quarantine facility. He is without symptoms and stable.

Police on the hunt for a Salvadoran man who allegedly raped a woman

The other incident occurred on Friday night at around 8:30 in Cotton Tree Village. A 32-year-old woman reported to police that she was at home with her common-law husband when they began talking about her Facebook account.

The other incident occurred on Friday night at around 8:30 in Cotton Tree Village. A 32-year-old woman reported to police that she was at home with her common-law husband when they began talking about her Facebook account. After reading her messages he reportedly got enraged, held a knife to her neck and then raped her. According to Assistant Commissioner of Police, Joseph Myvette, they are searching for one Salvadoran man in relation to the incident.

Joseph Myvette, National Crimes Investigation Branch: “As a result she has since been admitted to the Western Regional Hospital where she is undergoing treatment. The suspect in this case is believed to be a Salvadoran national who is being sought by police at this point in time.”

Reporter: Is there anything to suggest that maybe he has fled the country ?
