Police seek one man for stabbing incident in Hope Creek

Police are looking for one person following a stabbing incident on Monday in Hope Creek Village.  ACP Joseph Myvett gave the details.

ACP Joseph Myvett: Monday 2nd July shortly after 10:30 am Dangriga Police responded to an incident in Hope Creek where upon arrival one Jose Salinas was seen with three stab wounds to the back. Initial police investigation revealed that Salinas had alighted a passenger bus just about around 10:30 when he got into an altercation with another male person who inflicted the said injuries. Police are seeking one suspect in connection with this stabbing incident.

Reporter: So do you all know what may have link to this incident?

 ACP Joseph Myvett: No we know that it was an altercation between the victim and another person. The other person who had caused the injuries. There seem to be some disagreements between several youths within Hope Creek Village which the Police is in the process of addressing through mediation.

 Reporter: Ok sir now with this particular incident in Hope creek what the Grandmother told us was that the young man was avoiding the village because other people wanted to beat him and as he get off the bus  he was attacked and indeed we spoke to rivalries within the village. Is there any indication that there are organized gangs in the village as we have heard about in Bella Vista Village for example?
