Police Track Plane in Belize’s Airspace

Police were on high alert last night through to this morning after receiving reports of a suspected drug plane coming into Belize’s airspace. News of a plane landing reached our newsroom just after five this morning, but Police Commissioner confirmed that the aircraft did not land in Belize.

Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police: “We did have an aircraft in our air space last night. As a matter of fact we hardly got any sleep because we were monitoring that aircraft from it left South America and it vanished in our airspace in the Toledo district. At this time we’re not gonna say much in respect thereof because we do have officers on the ground conducting operations and I wouldn’t want to jeopardize the operations being conducted at this time.”
