Police Urge Public Support as Home Invasions Increase: Commissioner Addresses Concerning Trend

An uptick in home invasions has led the police to ask for greater support from the public. In recent weeks, there have been several instances of aggravated burglaries where people have been held up at gunpoint. The increase comes after the department celebrated a year of decreased homicides and major crimes and has garnered the attention of the country’s top cop. Today, the Commissioner of Police, Chester Williams, spoke about the concerning incidents and how the police are responding.

Williams added that crime is everyone’s business and implored Belizeans to work with the police.
