Policing and the upcoming general elections

Last week we reported that credible sources have told our newsroom that the general elections are slated to be held on Wednesday, November 4.  What will be interesting is to see how the voting will be handled amid the Covid-19 situation.  With no time to waste the Commissioner of Police has told Love News that they are already meeting with the relevant agencies to improve the regulations and make adjustments.

As we noted, an official announcement of the election date is yet to be made as the House of Representatives will have to be dissolved prior to the announcement.  If it is officially decided as November 4, the dissolution, by law, would have to take place by October 3 to allow for a 30-day notice leading up to the elections.
