President of Guyana Highlights Food Security Pressures Across the Region

In addition to environmental concerns, President Ali also addressed the growing pressure on food systems across the region. He explained that global disruptions and rising prices are placing significant strain on families and governments alike.

Dr. Ali said the Caribbean must invest more in agriculture, innovation, and regional production to reduce dependence on imports and protect citizens from global market shocks.

His remarks formed part of broader discussions during the visit focused on cooperation between Belize, Guyana, and the wider Caribbean in areas of development, resilience, and economic stability.
