With the attention now circling a nurse in the north over the sale of fake vaccination cards, there are concerns over the black eye that this incident has brought on the nurses around the country. It is a concern that President Spencer addressed in an interview this afternoon.
Darrell Spencer, President, Nurses Association of Belize: “I’ve been asked questions of how this puts a black eye on nursing. So wonder, there’s only one incident of a real issue in nursing and the entire community gets a black eye but nobody came and realized that all in all the thousands of nurses across the country have stood face to face with all that has been happening with COVID. Some of us have lost family, some of us have gotten sick and the entire nursing population was not rewarded for it but one nurse is implicated in an allegation and the whole entire nursing body gets a black eye.”
