And while politicians fight over posts and positions, the common man and woman on the ground continue to feel the effects of the rising cost of living. Prices of flour are seeing increases, which means that bread, pastries and everyday delicacies will inevitably increase. The government says that it’s doing all it can to address these issues, even as it tries to fight several other fires on the economic front. Speaking on this matter is Prime Minister John Briceno.

John Briceno, Prime Minister of Belize: “The price of flour was agreed that there was going to be a raise on I think there are two type of flours one is the one that the bakers and one that the public use. The one that the bakers use I think so I’m trying to remember the exact numbers but there was an agreement that there was going to be a slight increase because the price of wheat worldwide continues to go up.”
