Prime Minister Briceno Attends Belize Dallas Day in Texas

Prior to traveling to New York, Prime Minister Briceno made a brief stop into Dallas, Texas where members of the Belizean Diaspora had organized the tenth annual Belize Dallas Day in Dallas, Texas.  The event was on Saturday at the One Love Lounge with booths displaying traditional Belizean dishes, Belizean-themed clothing, and souvenirs. The Prime Minister along with Belize’s Ambassador to the USA, Lynn Young, and the Ambassador for Diaspora Relations, Sandhya Murphy, were guests of honor. PM Briceno delivered a speech and highlighted the importance of working together with Belizeans around the globe to improve the country.

PM Briceno departed the country on Friday and is leading a delegation to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Summit of World Leaders in New York.  The delegation will attend several events where the Prime Minister will be the keynote speaker on the Blue Bond and the successful restructuring of the national debt. Prime Minister Briceño will return to Belize on September 20. During his absence, Francis Fonseca, Minister of Education, Culture, Science & Technology, will hold over as Prime Minister.
