Prime Minister Briceno Attends Canada/CARICOM Summit in Ottawa

Prime Minister John Briceno departed the country yesterday to attend the first Canada/CARICOM Summit in Ottawa, Ontario (Canada).   The three-day summit started today, and is being led by Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau and the Prime Minister of Dominica, Roosevelt Skerrit who is the current CARICOM Chair.  The summit’s agenda is packed with topics to include climate change and resilience, access to finance and global financial architecture reform, the crisis in Haiti, regional security, as well as trade and investment. In the absence of Prime Minister Briceno, the Deputy Prime Minister, Cordel Hyde will hold over the country’s operations.
