Prime Minister Briceno Celebrates Nine Years as PUP Leader

Prime Minister John Briceno and the People’s United Party are celebrating nine years of Briceno’s leadership.  It was in January 2016 at the Belmopan Comprehensive School compound that Briceno won the leadership convention.  Five of those years were spent in opposition as Briceno held down the fort of the party by ensuring that all organs of the party remained operational.  Despite some turbulence during his leadership, Briceno now holds the Prime Minister’s office and will be serving a second consecutive term come this general election.  PUP’s Chairman, Henry Usher, reflected on the party leadership, recognizing Briceno for his tenacity and perseverance.
